The Fifth Soyvil War is a period of widespread unrest across Soyjak.party. Unlike previous Soyvil Wars, which usually revolved around a central figure or a singular meme, this Soyvil War is characterized by the breakout of conflicts between multiple factions with deep longstanding animosity between one another, all happening around the same time, with the most notable conflicts being between oldsois and nusois, and the general population against the jannies and admins.
Historical Parallels
[edit | edit source]It is somewhat similar to the Spanish Civil War with its multiple unrelated fronts trying to one up another, each with their own goal.
The Exciting Unfolding of Events
[edit | edit source]It all started with the Soyrising when 9a0c refused to ban a foodist from the site, causing mass revolt from the Soyteens. 9a0c's wiki page was vandalized until it was locked by him, causing even more hatred towards him, with calls for his resignation. Meanwhile, tensions between Soyteens and Frogposters reach a breaking point, resulting in the Second Soy-Frog War. War against Gigaposters also break out. At the same time, disputes between nusois and oldsois also break into conflict, with the variant Hunky Twink Sex Machine being spammed. This all culminated when it was announced that 9a0c allegedly """died""" and was replaced by Soysneed and Limeade. Limeade later implemented rules that made certain words filtered to move the thread to /qa/ while banning the user for 3 minutes. This evolved into forcing all new threads to start with an arrow, making /soy/ borderline unusable. The rule was revoked, along with jannies' ability to move threads, causing /soy/ to be raided by furfags and other sorts of brimstone being spammed. Later, it was found out that Limeade has been rigging the vote in /dem/ in favor of Femquote, furthering soyteens' distrust of the administration. It was later revealed through leaked emails that Limeade was 9a0c's alter ego all along (even though it's been pretty obvious), and that he wanted Femquote to win so he could turn /dem/ into his personal MLP-spamming paradise. This revelation further intensifies the call for 9a0c's resignation. /dem/ was ultimately deleted under a poll ran by Femquote. Around the same time, it was discovered that rival forum the Swinny were the ones behind the HTSM spam.
Impact
[edit | edit source]The War has caused the whole community to break apart, with daily fighting happening on the 'log everyday, and soyteens confused as to who to side with. Even the debate on whether this even qualifies as a war is controversial and prone to argument. The Soysphere is broken.
