Soygem.party, also known as The Gemmy, The Shemmy, and many others is a soyjak imageboard and a splinter of soyjak.party. It was created by an anonymous user who's only nickname derives from his email ([email protected]). The main purpose behind this website's creation was just to get away from Froot's faggotry, but with time, it incorporated many other ideas, the most wide-agreed upon it's users being "the haven for shitposting".
The board got its start on a soyjak.party thread[2]. Many 'teens rejoiced because they finally found a site that will host CP be free from nusoi degeneracy. The thread reached 300~ replies when it was autosaged.
The site was wordfiltered to "nigger" on soyjak.party (mindbroken).
A little history
[edit | edit source]soygem.party was created on January 22th, 2024 by Svvt. The first 4 boards added were /soy/, /qa/, /int/ and /sgp/. Svvt's initial iteration of the rules was deemed as too "rulescucked" by the users and promptly rewritten to better reflect the website's culture.
A few hours after the site's creation, Sean (nickname for every soygem poster) went on to shat up [s4s], wiping 4 pages and causing immense seethe from the local tranimefags.
On january 23th, due to the Sharty being down multiple times in a day a relatively big number of sharty natives migrated to there. Of course, most of them were absolutely horrified by soygem's /soy/, where anime and gyateshit were spammed, starting a large flamewar that lasted until the shitty went up. Also Doll did a mini-q'n'a.
On the february 1st, a sharty raid was called on soygem. Due to the janny team's no rulecucking policy sharty spam went through unprompted and many old threads were lost, including the pixel planet raid and sharty happenings thread both of which were the oldest threads on /soy/ at the time.
On the february 3rd, a rogue janny from the sharty posted his account credentials on the Shemmy, saying to "gem it up". A couple minutes pass before the account is deleted. Multiple threads on /soy/ were deleted, the noticeboard scraped for information and countless clueless sharty teens banned in cold blood.
/soy/ drama

[edit | edit source]soygem.party and soyjak.party are in constant rivalry. Sean maintains that they are better than the Sharty because their community is smaller and contains less twitter immigrants, newfags, and other undesirables, and because their /soy/ has NO RULES, LOL. soyjak.party, on the other hand, maintains that soygem is inferior because the sharty is the original /soy/. Although no one on the shemmy ever goes to the shitty, they are always the first and best source when it comes to the sharty's downtime.
The deep-seated nature of this rivalry causes minor outbreaks of interchan conflict occasionally, though usually such occurrences are minor, such as Nate posting furry porn on Sean's /soy/ in order to piss him off. The lingering distrust and anger between these two factions is unlikely to ever cease.
But what IS soygem.party?
[edit | edit source]The difference between both is the stereotype that soygem is essentially cancer-free, full of oldfags, free of modfaggotry, and has way less strict rules. The more neutral stance would be that soygem is a more fun, less serious form of the shitty and what the jarty wishes it could be.
Mod drama
[edit | edit source]The soygem's developer, nicknamed Codefag, opened helper applications and hired a random without forcing him through any routine offsite checks. Of course, the helper went on to repost the account info to a discord server and leaked /j/, causing an immense shitstorm. Codefag, realizing his mistake, deleted his subordinate's account and apologized numerous times. BUT! Due to Codefag having a retard syndrome, he FLASHED user IPs on the sharty while showcasing the shimmy's /soy/. Rightfully, he was called out for being a faggot and a movement demanding for his immediate dismissal arose.
Then codefag, being a sperg that he is, proceeded to wipe /soy/ and made the shimmy's home page redirect to a blank page.
An hour later, Svvt woke up and fixed everything.
Reactions to this statement seem to fall into several categories:
- "It was good while it lasted."
- "Can we just post bearded men with glasses in peace?"
- "I'm shocked, SHOCKED that soygem's mod team turned out to be this incompetent! I'm going back to the shitty, where the mods never act badly."
What the imageboard had to offer
[edit | edit source]Lazy-to-very good OC[2], occasional raids with varying success, bitter /qa/chuds, bitter oldchuds, bitter newchuds, cirnofags, chinofags, schizo samefags.
Some level of anonymity. According to the staff, IPs of users can only be viewed by the admins (((except for the ones present on the ban log))).
- /soy/ - by far the fastest board. Allows IAS and NAS.
- /qa/ - the second fastest board (still slow as fuck though). Overall just a diet version of it's Sharty counterpart[3][4].
