Freakybob, also known as Noctulian Freakybob is a meme related to the O9A that was briefly popular on the sharty's /pol/.
Origins
[edit | edit source]The meme of Freakybob started when someone robbed a store using a Spongebob mask[1] and various people decided to make a bunch of memes, edits and fake lore representing him as a Brenton Tarrant-esque figure and cult member. These creations often use images of the aforementioned masked robber or some other random images related to Spongebob retrofitted to the context of the meme. The name "Freakybob" is a reference to some random xitter meme about SpongeBob SquarePants[2]. Freakybob is depicted as a far-right mass shooter with occultist ties and some sort of eldritch power, using his abilities to target niggers and olther minorities, commiting various mass shootings and racially targeted killings.
Relation to Edgesphere
[edit | edit source]The naem itself of "Noctulian" is a reference to the O9A, representing someone who shares the same satanism sect as their members. Various of the freakybob images show Spongebob versions of Atomwaffen and similar groups' propaganda. The character became popular on Foodist circles and other sections of the edgesphere, serving as an example of using memes to spread their ideology. It can be considered one of the most successful, as it exploded in popularity on the sharty's /pol/ with a thread garnering thousands of replies[3] likely from foodists and soyteens who might've unaware of the O9A or Attomwaffen and just appreciated it for the edgyness. Upon the jannies realising the com dogwhistles, they decided to delete the thread and ban Freakybob from the soysphere, leaving the meme secluded to edgesphere online communities.
