A domain name is a string on the Internet which identifies a realm of possibilities and autonomous entities. In other words, it is what you type to go to a site like Soyjak.party and Google.com. They are used to identify websites, email addresses, and other social information. They are chartered in the (((Domain Name System))), and if a site falls under legal issues or somebody never renews the site, the site will go extinct. There are 2 domain names-
The first is a TLD, or Top-level-domain. Tho is the .something you always see and have to type on Google Search or another form of searching. These are the most important as losing the domain to a site (via the domain provider terminating the DNS) might cause a site to go down for a few days, like in the case of zzzchan. There is also the SLD, or the name of the actual site. Some sites have SLDâs that are very different from their actual website name, like how the kuzzyâs website was at one point, [https:board.10001mb.com/kuz]. However since most SLDâs are about the same as the siteâs name, we arenât going to spend all day yapping about SLDs. We are going to talk about the most notable TLDs.

.com is the most widely used website name, often being used by Normies to refer to anu website because of how often it is used. It is not used often on Soysphere related websites due to being under complete jurisdiction of US law, and .com web host ers being somewhat jannyish as they have banned regular innocent sites like Zzzchan for having boards dedicated to laziness. .com is also partially responsible for the boom of the internet around 2002, as quite a lot of new companies looking for profit started using .com. .com has faded over the years, with a sharp decrease in use around 2018-2019, but is still the most widely used TLD in the world.
