Catalog wiping, also known as catty wiping, or just 'log wipes[someone says this] are a certain type of raids or spam that are done/or can be done against any imageboard that are hostile to the site that the person is raiding, or just spamming for the le funny trollz. Most of these catalog wipes happens on certain imageboards, it could happen on imageboards like soyjak.party, 4chan or just any one in general.

The catalog wiping process starts when a person, or more people, start spamming the imageboard with more and more posts containing text and possibly an image, causing all the old threads on the imageboard to be deleted and unusable, unless users start bumping their posts. Imageboard catalog wipes can happen at anytime, everywhere. It could also happen to dead imageboards that are easy, maybe too easy to raid[a], and becomes a winraid in certain or more-so places.

Types of catalog wipes

[edit | edit source]

There can be many variants of catalog wipes, the ones listed in this category are the examples.

  • It can be someone spamming the imageboard with Soyjaks.
  • It can be baby-bot, or a recreation of it probably spamming the imageboard.
  • A person spamming their forced brimstone variant.

Examples of catalog wipes

Pictured: Catalog wipe happening on The Ninny
See The_Ninny#History_(Ninny_II) for more coverage on the catalog wipe.

On December 27, 2025, when The Ninny domain and imageboard came back after being restored by Coswork16, Chinny users, and a Soyjak spammer (only appeared later on) started catalog wiping the whole /qa/ catalog, while The Chinny users were spamming illegal material on the board, including z' porn. Coswork later caught what was happening, and locked the board for the night, and is currently cleaning everything up as of now (December 27, 2025).

Notes

  1. For example, that certain imageboard has little to no mods to delete or control to take care of the board.
