Anti-furries also known as antifurs are people who oppose the furry community, they are known for being a trolling group across the internet but more often than not they are nothing more

than considered lee-esque type of posters, they are also often critisized for being supposedly closeted furfags themselves or often some underage LARPers on the communities they are on.

Despite this they have a notable presence on the internet, specially the chanosphere and related communities.

History

Classic era (2000's-2015)

Despite what many people think, Anti-furries are a relatively old group on the internet, the earliest recordings of people hating on people wearing animal costumes can be dated back since the late 90's right after furfags started to appear a decade before.

In the 15th of August of 2005 wikifur made the page on Antifurries, defining them as "sane people" only to be changed a day later to a "troll group"

One of the earliest sites were antifurs would start to settle was CYD forums, also known as Crush, Yiff and Destroy, it was a site that allowed furfags and non furfags alike to poke fun at aspects of the furnigger community, it had a mascot which was a Racoon vomiting at a laptop screen, eventually the site would get bought up by a furfag in 2010 and then shut down the same year.

Another one of the sites were antifurs would settle was Something Awful something awful was known for organizing several trollings agaisnt furries such as raiding furry websites.

4chan is by far the most influential site were the antifur community would develop, historically 4chan has been always considered an antifur site, due to both the userbase looking upon down furfaggotry and making many memes mocking them and that the administration at the time would only allow furfags on the /b/ board, during the April Fools of 2005, Moot would make a /fur/ board, only to ban everyone who posted on it for a month, this is something decades later Froot would replicate on the sharty, Moot also despised them seeing them just as a source of drama that needed to be contained, it was very common that the threads hating on furfags would get derailed or furfags trying to derail random threads.

Another site related to 4chan were would you see antifurs was Encyclopedia Dramatica, the furry page is basically a giant mockery agaisnt the furfag community as a whole, the wiki also has pages on other furfags often lolcows which they would mock and other pages mocking many aspects of the furfag community.

However in 2015 everything would fell appart when the new owner Hiroyuki, would make /trash/, esentially giving furfags another board were they could settle in, a year later or so, other boards would also see the abolition of anti-furry rules being enforced such as /co/.

What most people refer as Anti-furries nowadays are the groups that are from this era, no one knows the exact origin of the antifurry movement from this era but many sources online says that a man named Joseph Frank Skerrnov was the person behind it thought he only evidence sustaining this is that he uploaded an antifurry flag on Wikipedia though no other evidence of him actually starting anything, regardless this era is also characteristic for the creation of many groups on social medias like discuck and raidings on furry servers or the use of doxing agaisnt furries.

Sometimes this has caused people to accuse antifurs of having a bit of fail-trollish behaviour also giving the fact that some antifurs were associated with failtroll groups such as the UTTP or in some cases with satanist groups like in the case of Rivenrayne.

Though this isn't the case most of the time because most antifurs post-2023 are now more related to the soysphere.

The sharty much like 4chan since the day it was created it had anti-furries or at least furry opposition, Soot the creator of the site added rules that banned furfags from the site, though this didn't stop ocasionally some furfag trying to post furshit ocasionally on /qa/, most notable figure during this time was w7-890, who would create threads on /pol/ hating on furries.

In 2023 with the growth of the sharty and the popularity of raids antifur raiders started coming to the site, doxing agaisnt furfags was the most frequent type of raid but also jackbox raidings.

Most notable however came in mid 2024 and early 2025 when the furfag soyteen wars began, the fronts were mostly concentrated on /nate/ were the furfags would also side with other gooners and during the board advents were many 3 furfag boards would get added, eventually the last battle would be the /bp/-/soy/ war which was started after furfags got the 10M GET, in the end furfags were expelled until the 4chan hack.

Dave

Dave was a nulee irish man known for his extreme hatred agaisnt furries, he would often sage, spam dot, post furry gore and furry troonjaks on furry threads, he was a notable nulee for a few days during early 2023 however there are claims that it was a forced /trash/ meme by a select group of furfags.

Supposedly Dave is a pro-furry meme that was made a while ago, eventually the soyjak wiki page turned it into a schizo page about some fake namefag since it seems it didn't really targeted anyone in specific, nowadays Dave is used as a term used by furfags to call antifurs albeit it isn't used as much as it used to.

Only the swinny is the only splinter that actively bans furfags or at least bans anyone who posts furshit making them by definition anti-furry however the rest of splinters usually care less about the presence of furfags (this doesn't count the vooey or fooey which are obviously furry sites)
