Venting, also known as emotional expression or releasing one’s feelings , is the act of openly sharing thoughts and emotions, often to relieve stress, frustration, or tension. It can involve talking to someone, writing, or expressing feelings in other ways to gain clarity or emotional relief.

While at SNCApedia we make fun of people who love to vent because of their attention-whore nature, if you're genuinely struggling; seek actual help instead of releasing your problem to internet strangers, as they may be using it against you as some point.

Why people vent?

There are multiple reason why people vent about their problem, however in the case of the internet you'll just often find people who do it for intention, or claim that events happening to them isn't their fault.

General cases

Here is what they seek to accomplish by venting:

  • Attention-seeking
  • Blaming other people instead of themselves
  • Damage control
  • Exaggeration or fabrication of events
  • Seeking validation rather than solutions
  • Avoiding accountability
  • Misrepresenting situations to gain sympathy
  • Claiming they have changed as a person.

Genuine cases

However in very rare case, they can be genuine struggle.

  • People vent, and it has been proven by soyence to help their mental problem.
  • Some individuals are genuinely seeking support, understanding, or advice.
  • Venting can be a way to cope with stress or overwhelming situations.

Where people vent?

There is multiple place where individual come to talk about their own issue.

  • Talking to a therapist.
  • Going on #vent channels on discord to vent.
    • Generally showing their own barcodes.
    • Generally for attention.
    • Generally are minors.
    • Generally doing it over the most smallest problem.
    • Or #annoucements if they're a fat discord moderator who need attentions.
