The lore added to the section below is considered to be canon within the Shation extended cinematic universe and will be referenced by official Shation media (dispatches, factbooks, and meta) articles on the 'states. The main lore of the region is referred to in this page as overall lore and individual nation lore is referred to as "national lore" and refers to specific lore within specific nations and not the region (place of residents of nations) overall [if your little pea brain still doesn't get it (YOU'RE JUST A TERRIBLE WRITER WHICH MAKES THINGS NEEDLESSLY CONFUSING DUE TO POOR REDACTION IS ESL AND FUGGEN SUCKS, KYS NIGGER) think as overall lore as the history of asia, and national lore as something like the history of Japan a nation in asia) if a nation's lore grows disproportionally then feel free to add a new section. Also not all of your autistic fanfiction will be considered canon because I say so, okay?
Overall Lore.
[edit | edit source]To understand the history of the landmass and political supranational union of the same name, we need to understand the history of Juan Edgar Soyim. Discoverer, founder of the supranational union and current president of Soyim, the biggest nation in the continent (it just is okay), Soyim was born to a relatively well-off family in the former perpetually rainy hyper-industrialized nation of [REDACTED] not much is known about this period of Juan Edgar's life which may not even be his real name as no official government document after his emigration to /POL/and in late 2024 has been found. Many people suggest Edgar Soyim might have hoped from nation to nation in search of a new home before finally deciding to settle in the district for it's perceived freedom a scarce resource in other places he had traveled to specially his former homeland, as he became more assimilated into soyculture he began to branch out into the wider soymmunity including visiting other districts such as /soy/ and /raid/ even being the creator of the successful draw a fish raid. Despite enjoying his time there soon it dawned on him that he had arrived at the dying end of a great soyciety with the current admin (speculated to be admin 6) and his cabal of jannies mismanaging the site and enacting repressive policies that soon impacted soyim. As a proud person of color he suffered heavily from the brownocaust and was soygregated to his main home /POL/ and now /INT/ he often disguised himself through fake passports to enter /soy/ doe, even if it was worthless as the decline was even more evident after this.
During all of this time something had always remained at the back of soyim's mind that something was to return to his homeland and try to make a difference despite everything. To no longer care about the consequences anymore, to finally have fun again in the place he had abandoned for so long to create a beacon of freedom in the shadow of trans rights and Antifag, and so with these desires in mind he explored the waters east of the recently taken over Jarty (now the IRC chat) and found a continent intact (ignore the fact that civilizations had existed in that continent for billions of years now) he christened this virgin land as the Shation a portmanteau of Sharty and Nation or maybe he just made some shit up idk. Either way the purpose of this new continent was clear to him to create a truly Sharty colony in the 'states and spread soyvilization to his former homeland. He shilled the Shation day and night in the trenches of /POL/ /INT/ and even /soy/ millions of soylonists were enticed to join xhim in this new adventure and went on to create their own settlements and nations. Today the Shation is home to 19 different nations some that were even native polities that willingly joined the supranational union.
Unfortunately for Soyim xhe would be permanently banished from the Sharty as a result of distributing SNCApedia encyclopedias containing splinter links. A grave sin in the Quotist administration. Evicted from his adoptive homeland Soyim now focuses on his own project inviting more colonists indirectly through the greater soysphere, only time will tell the fate of the colonists or of soyim, but so far things have been going well.

- Remain consistant to previous lore both national and overall.
- In regards to national lore consult with each of the owners of the respective nation you're writing lore for to see if xhe or xher considers it canon.
- RETCONS ARE NOT ALLOWED YOU NIGGER (UNLESS THERE'S A CONVINCING EXPLANATION FOR XHEM)
- All national written lore must be consistent with your NS stats (might be willing to debate this later if it is unpopular, because I'm a good person unlike some other admins) SO NO,JIMMY YOUR 5 MILLION POPULATION NATION WITH A 1 THREMBILLION CRIMES PER HOUR RATIO IS NOT THE SAFEST PLACE IN THE WORLD NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LIE ABOUT IT IN THIS PAGE.
- Events such as raids of other regions,
- The tech level in this region is modern day. New technologies emerging from that tech point are okay but things like FTL starships simply aren't there yet, you can make yourself as underdeveloped as you want though if that matters.
- "NS game events" such as your nation becoming a DNB after 28 days are canon in the Shation's lore and will spark crisissies as a result of state collapse. The reason for this state collapse will be decided by idk your stats or something. There's another list below which outlines which "NS game events" have an impact on lore or something.

Recurrent events and integration of Nationstates "happenings"
[edit | edit source]Stop adding new sections, jesus fucking christ. You will not use the name of the lord in vain, soyim. Anyway. These are the events that occur gamewise that affect the lore.
- Your nation ceasing to exist (basically after 28 days the game declares your nation DNB and its page goes down until you revive it or something) if this happen we will deem it as a state collapse and a civil war will incour and we will hegging roleplay or something.
- Raids of other regions (Nations that participated in the raid will be interpreted as soldiers from volunteer nations)
- Our region getting raided (hopefully this will never happen, but if it happens it will be interpreted as hostile forces invading the supranational's government HQ or something)
- Will Z-day and N-day events be canon? Idk, chud. You decide I guess.
- If the region gets deleted (we will interpet it as SATAN himself smitting us for exisitng and we will then search for a new homeland and get kicked of 109 nations even doe we are doing nothing wrong.)
