/intl/ was a board on 8chan that can be in many ways compared to 4chan's /s4s/. We only know about it's initial existence thanks to EDramatica's page on 8chan (which also hosts confounding information on the AF raid). It was created as a response to an increasingly "rulecucked" 8/int/, which was, in turn, made as a refuge camp for 4/int/ users dissatisfied with moot's regime (part of the larger movement called The Great Exodus) and also a member of the UBF ("United Boards for Freedom" - a loose intra-8chan coalition). The event which sparked the creation of /intl/ per se (the "April Fool's raid", 1 Apr. 2015) was an /int/ raid on /pol/ wherein anime and pedophillic
content was spammed (and subsequently deleted by either a board owner or a janny). /intl/ claimed to be a sanctuary for rule-hating (mostly refers to rules against spam instead of rules against pedophilia. Considering this is 8chan we're talking about, I don't think they were too worried about having to deal with restrictions on pedophilia, despite it being the target of two out of the three global rules of 8chans) OC-loving 8anons. They would "wage" a bloody one-board war against ALL of 8chan, their arch nemesis being 8/b/. /intl/ most likely stands for International Lounge.
Rivalry against 8chan's /b/
/intl/ was dedicated to funposting and was known site-wide for constantly complaining to Frederick Brennan (8chan's then owner) on /meta/. Dissatisfied with him, while also being very hostile towards Reddit, they would christen him "Freddit Breddit" - keep in mind this expression might have been around before /intl/ since it's meant to ridicule his affinity towards Reddit, as 8chan was made having Reddit's user-generated subreddits in mind; he even promoted 8chan on Reddit once. /b/ raided /intl/ soon after its creation and, when /intl/ started cooperating with NuclearIB (an undocumented imageboard-related entity), /b/ hacked NIB and swatted NIB's admin, his friend and his girlfriend. Around this time /intl/ started fostering their own culture. Some of their original memes were "Negrin" and "HEH PILL". /intl/ wrote a constitution of sorts for /b/, in which moderation rules would be established. /b/ was not the only board to raid /intl/, however.
Among other things, /intl/ was right about one of 8chan being a borderline honeypot (this time, the site's de facto owner was Jim Watkins, who was infamous for disregarding user privacy). Your activity would be registered, and everyone found out when Jim enabled debugging. This was especially impactful because of the existence of pedonigger boards which logged participants' IPs.🗝️
/intl/ now
Following 8chan's demise, no one created an /intl/ board on 8kun. However, two /intl/ boards currently exist on Endchan (one has no posts) and one on 8moe, which might be tied to soyjak.party as one post during the Great Cuckset wrote:
