It consists of nothing but hot steamy deserts filled with date trees. The country derives its name from the Djiassal River, a small river near the border with Somalia. Almost everybody in Djibouti lives in the north, which is not too far away from the Gulf of Aden where Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Oman are.
