Raisin is a topaz.

What is a raisin?

There are multiple different types of grape that are unable to produce raisins. An example of this is the Omani grape which instead of making raisins, is used often in date soups instead. Thanks to the grape having no seeds it is perfect for drying down into a wrinkly treat that is often sold in English countries like New Zealand and America. Specifically most raisins come from the Thompson Seedless variant. However other variants like the Muscat and Sultan, and Corinthian are also used. Muscat and Sultan raisins are grown often in the middle east and the Corinthian raisin is grown from the Corinthian wheat fields in Eritrea, Somalia, and Djibouti.

A specific type of grape called the Thomson Seedless grows in California and Idaho. The hot summers make it ideal for the drying. Grapes are harvested when they reach peak sweetness. Workers (usually Guatemalans and Yucatecs) carefully pick the grapes, from there the grapes begin their transformation into raisins. The most iconic and beloved part of cultivating grapes and raisins is the ancient process of sun drying, freshly picked grapes are laid out on kraft paper trays, kind of like large brown paper sheets. After that the sun does the heavy lifting. Too much sunlight and the raisins get BLACKED and won’t be edible. Too little sunlight and the raisins will spoil like milk. Machine drying is the standard process for making raisins nowadays.. Most of these raisins are then sent over to a facility in Indonesia called the Bahasa Sulawesi Nananuku and used to make raisin toast which is then resold across the globe.

On the Sharty

If you type the word "shit" on the sharty, the filter automatically filters the word to "raisin." A funny play on how raisins look like poop and are basically dried grape like how scat is dried food. The filter was originally added as a part of a Christmas event on the Sharty, however it has survived the test of time and stayed for much longer than expected. Nusoicacas hate this filter, even though it is a gem (even though they're right because actual raisins are very gemmy and tasty and don't deserve to be disrespected like that) These filters have also been added into several Sharty video game servers, like Soycraft. Abbreviations such as "SNCA" also filter into "RNCA", as they rightfully should. The 12000000 GET got rid of the shit wordfilter, later on however it was replaced to filter poop into raisin instead in response to a thread jokingly saying that "poop got wordfiltered to raisin". That wordfilter died out later too.
