Anime is coal.

Anime, formerly Japanimation, is a style of animation originating from (((Japan))). Anime and its fans, colloquially known as "weebs" short for weaboo, are a controversial demographic on the soyosphere. Prior to late 2023 or early 2024 most soyteens were not particularly pro or anti anime beyond calling it tranime, primarily to trigger oldfags and oldfag larpers on 4chan, however the doxxing of lolicon and grifter RevSaysDesu the soyosphere, especially the sharty and soybooru became significantly more hostile to anime. Accusations of pedophilia aimed at soyteen weebs would increase, despite the overwhelming majority of CSAM spammed on the site being of actual children. The scapegoating of anime would continue, seemingly encouraged by the sharty staff, ironic given their track record of forcing media created almost entirely if not exclusively for sexual gratification with no intended artistic merit on a website frequented by minors with rules explicitly allowing those at least 16 to declare themselves as such.

Outside of the soysphere, anime is typically consumed by individuals that would commonly meet the characteristics of a potential nuvariant reference image. However, in recent years, it has started to become more and more normalized as streaming services gave more people access to anime, the media form. Thus, a real-life debate on whether anime is gemmy or brimstone ensues.

Arguments for anime, the media form, being gemmy

[edit | edit source]

- When done right, it's watchable

- Some animes have chuddy fanbases[They just do..... Ok?]

- The word "tranime" and it's effects on oldfag larpers (real, active oldfags are rare thoughever)

- Mr. Popo's character design pissing off niggers[It just does...... Ok?]

Arguments against anime, the media form, being gemmy

[edit | edit source]

- Hentai (NEVER GQQN)

- Some weebs are genuinely pedophiles

- Trannies consume anime (non-issue if you're not a moeshitter)

- Hearing their grating voices in any language makes me want to blow my fucking brains out (goes for both subs and language dubs)

- Barely anything made after 2016 is worth watching that isn't adapting another related medium, i.e. manga.

Waifus

[edit | edit source]
Kagura is real to me though.

The concept of considering a anime or manga character as one's wife (waifu) or husband (husbando) is common amongst the weeb faithful. Langley and Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion may or may not be the first characters to be widely popular as waifus, though they are almost certainly the first to spark debate over which of the two is representative of the feminine ideal.
