A raisin is a dried up grape. They are produced in many regions of the world and can be eaten raw, and are used in cooking, baking and brewing.
What is a raisin? =
There are multiple different types of grape that are unable to produce raisins. An example of this is the Omani grape which instead of making raisins, is used often in date soups instead. Thanks to the grape having no seeds it is perfect for drying down into a wrinkly treat that is often sold in English countries like New Zealand and America. Specifically most reasons come from the Thompson Seedless variant.
